Boyer Audio
Guillaume Boyer needed help reinventing his high-end audio distribution brand as he transitioned from The Shunyata Distribution Company - where he represented just one brand - to bringing four different hi-fi brands under the same roof. The business needed a fresh new name, messaging, visual identity and website where these unique audio brands could sit side by side under one cohesive theme without feeling visually disjointed.

“Santeri’s work is truly world class. He has been an invaluable member of the team and his attention to detail and execution are second to none. We remain consistently impressed by the innovative quality of his work which has really helped launch and position Boyer Audio as a leading player in the UK hi-fi industry.”

With a distributor website such as this - where different brands need to be represented - there is a danger that the experience becomes a chaotic mish-mash of different visual styles. It is a balancing act where the character of each brand needs to be communicated while maintaining a consistent Boyer look & feel, one with class and character, but never overpowering.
Brand strategy
Before delving into any design details, I spoke with Guillaume at length to understand the WHY, HOW & WHAT behind the business. What came through was his personal, dependable approach and his passion for audio brands with a strong identity. While many insights came out of this brand workshop process, the core of the business could be distilled into just two words: sound character.
A simple and unique brand message that:
1. positions the business in the world of audio
2. describes the brands Guillaume works with
3. describes his own dependable personality
Every brand comes with its own style of products and photography. Giving them all a copper technical illustration treatment allows them to sit side-by-side as a unified Boyer family of brands, while also drawing attention to the precise engineering prowess behind the products.
“I wanted to compliment your beautiful full spread ad in the latest HiFi+. Beautiful, concise, strong statement, heavy brand. It's all the things I love. Really appreciate that approach, and I'm glad we have an example of that style to refer to as we keep building ads for the brand here in North America.”
